Abstract
This talk analyses classical mixed finite element method (FEM) and pressure-robust FEM with divergence-free reconstruction operators for the coupled Stokes-Darcy problem. Its main contribution is to provide a theoretical analysis that is simpler and more accurate, demonstrating the dependence of velocity errors in classical and pressure-robust method on the exact pressure and viscosity coefficient. It also establishes the directional correlation of pressure errors with the exact velocity, pressure, and viscosity coefficient. Moreover, numerical experiments validate these analyses: Case 1 confirms pressure dependence of velocity and pressure errors, while Case 2 examines viscosity dependence. Results demonstrate that the pressure-robust method achieves substantially enhanced accuracy over classical method for scenarios involving large pressures or small viscosities, with comparable performance otherwise.
